The Dangers of Spyware

My friend is a fisherman, at least that's what he'd like to be, on a monday thru Friday he fixes PCs and performs an excellent job and has garnered a perfect reputation. If I have a personal computer problem, my friend is the emergency number I reach for and no matter how difficult or convoluted the problem, give him some time and he'll ferret out a resolution. He told me something disturbing last night, it seems that 80% of the PCs he works on have spyware or adware on their PCs, and a good number of his clients are ignorant of it; e-mailing him when their machines grind to a halt.

The world wide web is like to a living, breathing organism frequently developing, and not always in a positive road, though it certainly has given me a career and income. As the calendar turns and technology advances, so also does spyware. It is vital today to have Spyware Removal tools on your system and to schedule scans on a regualr basis; essential is regularly updating the software, since what worked last time may overlook a virus or spywarecreated since the previous scan.

As a test for this article (using a separate and clean system) I performed a test, turning OFF any anti spyware, anti adware software then purposedly visiting several traffic trade sites. These surfing websites are perfect for new webmasters, allowing them the means to deliver visitors to selected sites, simply by their visiting and looking at other sites. The flow is like this:

The surfer is shown a site at random (usually category specific) and credits are debited to his/her account You assign these credits to a particular URL. when others follow the same process, your website is offered for review. The system is designed so everyone gets a look at someone elses site.

This allows anyone to quickly send traffic to their sites, there are some that (not all) of these sites are either owned by or frequented by people of ill intent. Their scheme is not to simply display an offer or website, but to install spyware on your system. And with today's technology some malware is smart enough to trigger the installation of spyware onto your system, simply by looking at their innocent looking home page. I'm not criticizing these sites or discouraging their use, I am recommending vigilance and recommending you be positive your system is protected.

If you're reading this, statistics say you may already have or will certainly fall victim to spyware or adware. If you are wondering, I don't visit movies or music sites and I certainly don't download tainted titles, then you are one of the few, but you are still need to be prepared. Take the safety measure. To quote the old warning...

'an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure'

In this day and age it not only makes good sense, its mandatory to protect yourself. Much of your data it is vital, either from work or personal standpoint; think of opening your eyes up to discover all your details vanished. Frightening, utterly... Possible?... Yes it could. Preventable? Yes you can by using the best spyware removal programs.

Now that I have your attention, perhaps you're wondering what exactly will spyware and adware do to my small network. Great, glad to know you're thinking. For the most part spyware and adware are not rampant killers, rather to report your surfing habits. keeping records and data, then reporting your activity to a database somewhere; the spyware might display ads and probably will clog your computer, slow your motherboard and diminish your connection to the Internet. It's not so much the damage done, but the fact that your life, your privacy, your system has been breached and these people (whomever they are) have no right to be there.

Thankfully there are giving men and women who feel precisely the way I feel; meaning they intend to not take this lying down. I can't write code, My skill is writing, and I submit these thoughts to give fair warning and advise you take precautions and defend your system. I applaud those defenders of safe browsing with the intelligence and spirit to write then make available these fine spyware removal programs.

Once you decide on which spyware/malware removal tools to use, I'd suggest regular scans of your PC. When you set up the spyware removal tool properly, most of the scans are done automatically, and in all probability while you're away from your system.
